| Program Description: |
Since September 11, 2001, more than 50,000 U.S. veterans have incurred physical or mental injury, illness, or wounds related to their military service in foreign wars. Founded in October 2009, the Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) has served nearly 27,000 wounded veterans and their families by providing necessary support and medical services. Pickaway-Ross Career & Technology Center proposes hosting a benefit concert to raise money for this worthy cause to be held on school grounds in Chillicothe. Students from the Career Center and its 10 affiliated school districts in Ross and Pickaway counties will be invited to attend the concert, which will feature local, regional and national bands and acts. The concert would be held in the fall of 2013.

| Impact Of Grant: |
The Make a Difference Grant would be used to fund construction of a stage and offset transportation costs for students from our affiliated school districts to attend the benefit concert. A $1 admission fee will be charged to each student, which will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. Money from concessions and student-created concert gear will also be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, along with any donations collected from the community. Grant money will also be used to help offset costs of transporting resident veterans from the local Veterans Administration complex to attend the concert, where their service will be honored. The Make a Difference Grant will enable Pickaway-Ross to pull the community together to build goodwill while raising money for a very worthy cause.
